Sachem North baseball needed a win Tuesday to even the series after losing 7-4 Monday at Bay Shore.
Senior pitcher Dan D'Orazio came through for the Flaming Arrows by allowing only one earned run through seven innings and striking out eight. He also drove in what became the winning run. North won, 3-1, and the win moved the Arrows (4-1) into second place in League II.
D'Orazio kept Bay Shore off the board in the first, and his team answered with a run in the bottom the inning. Brendan Gary singled in Alec Sole, who walked to lead off the inning.

The game remained 1-0 in favor of Sachem until the home team added two more in the third inning. Sole led off the third with a single, and scored on D'Orazio's triple. Garry brought in D'Orazio with a double to give him his second RBI, and to put Sachem up 3-0.
Both teams remained off the board until the seventh when Bay Shore finally broke through.

A few hits for Bay Shore (5-3) put together its only run of the game, but it wasn't enough.
When asked about how he stayed in control the entire game, D'Orazio answered that he "kept his composure, and relaxed."
These teams will wrap up this series in Bay Shore Thursday.
