D'Orazio Shuts Down Bay Shore

North baseball beats Marauders, 3-1.

Sachem North baseball needed a win Tuesday to even the series after losing 7-4 Monday at Bay Shore.

Senior pitcher Dan D'Orazio came through for the Flaming Arrows by allowing only one earned run through seven innings and striking out eight. He also drove in what became the winning run. North won, 3-1, and the win moved the Arrows (4-1) into second place in League II.

D'Orazio kept Bay Shore off the board in the first, and his team answered with a run in the bottom the inning. Brendan Gary singled in Alec Sole, who walked to lead off the inning.

Both teams remained off the board until the seventh when Bay Shore finally broke through.

When asked about how he stayed in control the entire game, D'Orazio answered that he "kept his composure, and relaxed."
