The Commack Cougars varsity football squad beat Sachem North 31-28 on Friday, dealing Sachem a homecoming loss in a marathon game that saw three overtime periods.
According to MSG Varsity, the game ended on a 31-yard field goal by senior Billy Holscher.
The win set off a frenzy of posts on Twitter from locals and students lamenting the loss, many of them shocked.
"Not gonna lie, that Commack vs. Sachem north game was pretty insane," wrote one fan.
Sachem North falls to 4-1 on the season.
