Caridi, Aranow Shine at Jake Reed Blue Chip Camp

North lacrosse products hit recruiting circuit for college looks.

Sachem North sophomores Joe Caridi and Michael Aranow played at the second annual Jake Reed Fall Blue Chip Camp in Charlotte last weekend.

The camp, which took place at Queens University, offered the chance for a number of college coaches to attend, including Army, Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Delaware, Denver, Duke, Harvard, Michigan, Navy, North Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State, Penn, Princeton, Rutgers, Towson, Virginia and Yale.

According to Inside Lacrosse, who covered the event live, Caridi, who plays midfield, eluded defenders with ease in the open field and displayed a great “swim dodge.”

Aranow, the lacrosse media outlet said, had the best stick work of all close defensemen. In the first game of the weekend he recorded two caused turnovers and one intercepted pass.

Both Caridi and Aranow played in the Suffolk Rising Sophomore game last summer.
