The 2011 football season marks the 50th anniversary of the Sachem football program and the 25th anniversary of Sachem winning the 1986 Rutgers Trophy as the top team in Suffolk County.
On Oct. 21, a game against Brentwood at home already pegged as part of the , will also serve as the 25th anniversary celebration for one of the greatest teams in Sachem history.
While Sachem Patch will be writing countless stories about that magical season and the other 49 years in program history throughout the course of the 2011 season, this initial post is a message to all football alums from that 1986 team ... if you want to be involved in that celebration, read the PDF letter in the gallery on the right.

Here's the basics:
- Respond to Sachem Director of Athletics Pete Blieberg via email at pblieberg@sachem.edu or by phone at 631-471-1335 no later than Friday, Sept. 23
- Give him your jacket size (pullover style wind jacket)
- Provide him with your address, phone number and email
