CAA Inks Deal with NBC, Allows for UNH Football to be Televised

Stay tuned for updates on when you can watch Dalton Crossan play - red shirt pending - on television.

He didn’t know it when he signed with New Hampshire, but one good thing about Dalton Crossan’s future playing career with the Wildcats is our ability to watch him play on television.

This week, the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) reached a five-year agreement with the NBC Sports Group that will provide the most extensive and comprehensive exposure of the conference in its history with coverage on NBC Sports Network and across the group’s regional sports networks, according to a release from the conference.

The agreements, which begin with the 2012-13 season and runs through 2016-17, will provide national television coverage of CAA football games on the NBC Sports Network. NBC Sports Network will televise a minimum of five CAA Football games annually. Throughout the term of the agreement, there are plans to telecast numerous additional CAA games and various CAA championships on NBCSports.com.

The schedule has not been released for televised games, so it's unclear when and if New Hampshire will get any national broadcasts this year or next, but we'll keep you updated.

“We are thrilled to be associated with the NBC Sports Group,” CAA Commissioner Tom Yeager said in a statement. “The NBC Sports Network now provides a national platform to elevate the conference in conjunction with the relationship we’ve had with the Comcast SportsNets, which have been the foundation of our television package for almost three decades.”

Crossan, Sachem's single-season rushing yardage and touchdown leader, finished up his football career with the Flaming Arrows in the fall. He is getting set to play lacrosse this spring, before playing in two football all-star games this summer and enrolling at New Hampshire this fall. There is a very good chance Crossan could red-shirt his freshman season and start playing full-time in 2013.
