Andreassi Makes U-19 USA Team Tryout List

Will most likely not tryout due to elbow injury.

Sachem North’s Michael Andreassi is one of the 122 players on the tryout list for the United States Under-19 men’s national lacrosse team.

Due to an elbow injury sustained during the 2011 regular season, Andreassi, who is headed to play at the University of Massachusetts, will not tryout. The same injury will keep him sidelined for the United Healthcare Empire Challenge football all-star game this week at Hofstra University.

Tryouts will take place July 7-10 at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and the U-19 World Championships will take place in Turku, Finland in 2012. There are 24 Long Island natives who made the tryout list this year. Garden City has the most with four.
