  • Fletcher Sadler, a senior, will occupy the No. 1 singles spot for Sachem this year. “He can get to everything and is the most experienced player on the roster this year,” Saposnick said.
  • Freshmen Jared Cohen and Sebastian Godinez have impressed Saposnick during the first couple weeks of practice.
  • Dave Stroh, Ryan Miller and David Markose, all soccer players at North, are giving tennis a try and Saposnick said they’re athleticism should shine through.
  • Rich Lupo, a senior, is playing tennis for the first time this year.

Key Loses

  • Josh Waxenbaum, an All-Sachem Patch selection last year, was the No. 1 singles player the last two seasons and was a four-year varsity player with tremendous skills.

Expectations: “I’m hoping to go at least .500,” Saposnick said. “With no real experienced tennis players, we’re hoping to bring the level up. Anybody in our league is beatable. The ultimate goal is to win the league, but we’ll start small and go for .500 and take it from there.”
