Vote for Ruchi Shah in Yahoo's Women Who Shine Contest

The valedictorian of the Sachem North Class of 2012 has a shot at $10,000.

Newly minted Sachem alum Ruchi Shah needs your help to win Yahoo's Women Who Shine contest.

Shah is in the running in the entrepreneur category for her her creation and development of an all-natural mosquito repellent, which has already won her plenty of accolades, including a $25,000 scholarship after being named a National AXA Achiever, one of just 10 in the nation.

Shah, now a student at Stony Brook University's Scholars for Medicine Program, needs your vote to put her in the running for the top prize of $10,000.

"I would be absolutely honored to have the support of the Sachem community for my work in creating and patenting an all-natural mosquito repellent!," Shah said in email to Patch. "Not only does this mean a lot to me personally, but it also has the potential to make mosquito repellents accessible to the global population."
