Tecumseh Students Speak with U.S. Soldier on Skype

Second grade teacher's brother serves America and spoke with kids.

In honor of Veteran's Day, one Tecumseh Elementary class was able to speak with a solider in Afghanistan.

Students from second-grade teacher Jennifer DeGregory's class were live with her brother, Keith DeGregory, a Major in the military intelligence division of the United States armed forces.

On Nov. 12, the second graders had a conversation with Major DeGregory via Skype. During the conversation, the students asked Major DeGregory questions, and he asked a few questions of his own.

The second graders concluded the conversation with a very patriotic rendition of "You're A Grand Ol' Flag."

According to Tecumseh Principal Laura Amato, this special classroom activity was a life lesson that these 7 and 8-year old students will never forget.
