The Sachem school budget vote is two weeks away; do you plan on voting yes or no?

In exactly two weeks, Sachem residents cast their votes on next year's school budget.

The Board of Education a $291.36 million budget for next year. That represents a 1.1 percent spending increase. It also carries a 4.2 percent hike in the school tax levy. That pierces the state's new tax cap so the budget will need a super majority of 60 percent of the resident vote in order to pass.
