As a leader in our Health Education Department, Mrs. Hewlett serves as the Chairperson for the entire district. Overseeing the implementation of current and relevant Health related topics, Mrs. Hewlett has made the Sachem Health Education department a model program in New York State. In the last two years, Mrs. Hewlett has added the title of PEP Grant Coordinator to her resume by overseeing the 1.5 million dollar grant the district was awarded in 2011. Her desire to keep Sachem on top when it comes to educational experiences for our students is second to none. Her passion and drive cannot be duplicated but becomes contagious for her students and colleague alike. It’s often said that the mold was broken when Mrs. Hewlett joined the Sachem family and her legacy of striving for excellence will continue here for many years to come.

Hewlett will receive her award at the Suffolk Zone Conference in November 2013. As a winner, her name was also forwarded to the NYSAHPERD for consideration for the State Award.
