Sachem To Offer Parent Workshops Next Week

Covey workshops designed to increase student performance and involve the outside-of-school community in the process.

Beginning November 27 the Sachem School District will be hosting Covey Parent Workshops at both Sachem High School East and Sachem High School North, according to a recent release.

The workshops are intended to involve students, teachers, parents and Sachem residents in the process of developing student acheivement and creating leaders in the community.

The workshops are open to parents from all of the district's high school feeder schools. Gary McGuey, a presenter for Covey, will lead the workshop: entitled "The 7 Habits and Your Family."

The school's release detailed the following:

  • The workshop will have supervised activities for children ages 4 and up.
  • The event is free, but there is limited space available (first come, first serve).
  • If you have children in multiple buildings or grade levels, request tickets from the school in which your eldest child attends.
  • Print the linked PDF and have it returned to the homeroom teacher by Tuesday, November 20.

Presentation 1 (East feeder schools)

Date: Tuesday, Nov. 27

Location: Sachem High School East auditorium

East side schools: Chippewa, Lynwood, Merrimac, Tamarac, Tecumseh, Waverly, Sagamore and Sequoya

Time: 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Check-in begins: 6:00 p.m.

 

Presentation 2 (North feeder schools)

Date: Wednesday, Nov. 28

Location: Sachem High School North auditorium

North side schools: Cayuga, Gatelot, Grundy, Hiawatha, Nokomis, Wenonah, Samoset and Seneca

Time: 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Check-in begins: 6:00 p.m.

Please print PDF and send in to child’s homeroom by Tuesday, November 20.
