Sachem Swim Team Has Record Day

James Donlevy takes second in state, earns All-American consideration.

A strong day for Sachem's swim team this past weekend, as four senior athletes set new school records at the state championships in Rochester.

According to The Sachem Report, North’s James Donlevy placed second in the state in the 100 free event while notching a new school record time of 45.71.

In other events, Donlevy, Greg Coleman, Kyle Beigay and Chris Tutone placed fifth in the 200 free relay but also broke a Sachem record with a 1:28.59 time.

The 400 free relay of Donlevy, Coleman, Chris Penteck and Tutone earned a time of 3:14.49, breaking a school record that stood for 32 years. 

“These guys did awesome this weekend and I am so proud of them,” Sachem coach Larry Saposnick told The Sachem Report. “They are all seniors and I will miss them very much.”
