Sachem Cancels All Friday and Saturday After-School Activities

Tonight's premiere of "Legally Blonde" still on at North, but Friday's show postponed.

The Sachem School District has cancelled all after school and evening activities for Friday and Saturday at all 18 of the district's buildings, according to Chris Vaccaro, Sachem's communications director. This includes the Friday night showing of "Legally Blonde: The Musical," scheduled over this weekend and next at Sachem North.

Tonight's premiere showing of "Legally Blonde" however, is still on, and the regular school day is in session tomorrow. From the district's announcement on The Sachem Report:

Due to the impending winter storm scheduled to hit the northeast, Sachem Schools has officially cancelled all after school and evening activities on Friday and all district activities on Saturday, according to Sachem Superintendent James Nolan.

The cancellations for Friday include PM Childcare.

The list of activities that are being postponed include Sachem North’s production of “Legally Blonde: The Musical” as well as the Program Day basketball event and breast cancer fundraiser at Sachem East on Saturday.

The Program Day/Breast Cancer event has already been rescheduled for Sunday, Feb. 10 and all activities will take place at the originally scheduled times.

Please note that the Thursday and premier showing of “Legally Blonde” is still going on as originally scheduled.

The district will also be working to continually monitor weather conditions for any early dismissal potential for Friday. Once makeup times have been released regarding the aforementioned events, Sachem Schools will provide updates on all of its platforms to keep the community informed.
