Sachem North LAX Players Make Commitments

Two players verbally commit to play lacrosse when their college career begins.

Sachem North Lacrosse Coach Jason Mauro recently announced the verbal college commitments of Joe Caridi and Angelo Leto.

Caridi, a junior midfielder for the Flaming Arrows, has committed to play for Stony Brook University when he graduates in 2014. A starter on the varsity squad since his sophomore year, Caridi had 22 goals and 15 assists in his rookie season according to Mauro.

"Joe is a great kid who works extremely hard," Mauro stated in an email. "He is an excellent athlete with a great shot. He will be one of our leaders this year on offense. We expect big things from him and we know he will deliver."

Angelo Leto, meanwhile, verbally committed to play at Briarcliffe when he graduates in 2013. Leto, a senior defensive middie, switched positions over the summer and is expected to be a leader for the Flaming Arrows this spring.

"Angelo is a great kid who worked hard last season and this summer," Mauro stated. "He switched positions and bought into his role on the team. He is well respected by his teammates and coaches."
