Updated: All Sachem Schools Being Dismissed One-Hour Early Today

Sporadic power outages lead to early closure for all schools.

UPDATE: All schools in the district are being dismissed an hour early "due to sporadic power outages in many buildings from the pending storm," school officials said. 

The Sachem School District has just announced a one-hour early dismissal for Sachem High School North today, after power outages continue to plague the building. 

"Sachem has experienced sporadic loss of power throughout some buildings in the district on Wednesday. All issues are being addressed," the school stated in a release.

Also, the district announced that all after-school activities at Sachem are cancelled. 

The early dismissal is for Sachem North only. All other schools will have regular dismissal. Afternoon UPK and child care is still in place and all schools will also be observing a normal dismissal, according to the release.
