Sachem East Track Coach Wins Zone Award
Pete McNeill earns Suffolk's "Teacher of the Year" from state physical education group.
Sachem East track coach and physical education teacher Pete McNeill was recently informed that he has been honored with the Suffolk County Zone Award for "Adaptive Physical Education Teacher of the Year." The award is bestowed on teachers in various counties by the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (NYSAHPERD).
McNeill, a Sachem alum who also contributes Sachem East track and field updates for Sachem Patch, will be presented with the award at the Suffolk Zone Conference in November 2013, according to a release from the school district.
As the Suffolk County recipient, McNeill's name will be forwarded on to NYSAHPERD to be considered for the overall State Award.
