Sachem East Field Hockey Team Honored By BOE
Back-to-back undefeated team recognized by Athletic Director, board members for their second state championship.
Sachem Athletic Director Pete Blieberg introduced the 2012 New York State Champion Sachem East Field Hockey team at last night's Board of Education meeting. The team received official recognition from the BOE for their remarkable back-to-back undefeated seasons and their second straight state championship.
Among those singled out on the team was junior Katie Trombetta, who committed early to play field hockey at the University of Michigan when she graduates.
"But not before she wins us another state championship," Blieberg quipped. The audience rose to give the team a standing ovation.
