Sachem East Defeats Southampton in Suffolk County Final
Sachem East looks ahead to Long Island championship game against Nassau champs.
The Sachem East Girls Basketball Team continued their string of wins on Friday, defeating the Southampton Lady Mariners in the overall Suffolk County finals game. The Flaming Arrows led by 8 at the half and never relinquished the lead as they defeated Southampton 42-54.
Sachem, the large school champion, faced Southampton, the small school champion at Ward Melville High School in Setauket.
Kathleen Everson led the team with 25 points, while Katie Doherty racked up 13 points in the win.

Coming up Friday, March 8, Sachem heads to Hofstra University in Hempstead to take on the Nassau County Class AA Champions for the Long Island title.
