Sachem East Crowns Two State Champions

Team has strong showing at state track meet.

sent a strong contingent up to the New York State Track and Field Championships held this past weekend in Syracuse.

First up on Friday was thrower Brittany Sepe who placed 8th in Shot Put with a toss of 36' 2.75". A few hours later Diamond Jackson stepped into the Discus circle and put together a solid series of throws that had her in 4th place going into her final throw. Jackson broke her own school record with a throw of 119' 8" to pass the competition and earn the State Champion title.

First up for Sachem East on Saturday was Rachel Paul competing in the 1500 Meter Run.  Rain and wet track conditions didn't prevent Paul from winning the Large School championship with a time of 4:28.29, just over a second short of her own school record. With the win, the senior adds her first State Champion title to her resume.
