Sachem Alum Elected To LI Lacrosse Hall of Fame

Fresh of his induction into the Hofstra Hall, Doug Shanahan will be granted Long Island Lacrosse immortality.

Sachem alum Doug Shanahan is having one heck of a 2013. After learning he'll be inducted into the Hofstra University Athletic Hall of Fame in April, he was recently notified of his induction into the Long Island Lacrosse Hall of Fame in February.

Shanahan, a 1997 graduate of Sachem High School, will be inducted during a ceremony at the Huntington Hilton Hotel on February 8, according to the Sachem Report.

Shanahan played lacrosse and football at Hofstra University, tried out for the New York Jets and ultimately settled on Major League Lacrosse, where he is still an active player.

Shanahan will be joined at the induction class by Allison Comito, Keith Cromwell, A.J. Haughen, Jay Jalbert, David Kelly, Christopher LaMonica, Christopher Massy, Tricia Leigh Simon and Bob Vlahakis.
