Poll Results: Community Would Use Extra Cash for School Clubs

56 percent of those who voted think cash from tax levy situation should help clubs.

In a recent poll conducted on Sachem Patch, a majority of community members feel the Sachem Central School District should use funds derived from the tax levy to pay for co-curricular activities in the secondary level.

Fifty six percent of people who voted are in favor of using the $224,000 the district has after the tax levy numbers came in last week in order to run as many clubs as possible.

The next highest choice - 14 percent - voted to run all clubs, no matter how much it would cost the district at this point.

Sixteen percent said all clubs should be cancelled and the district should conserve funds for a bleak 2012-13.

Five percent didn't care at all and selected the "Who cares? Are clubs really important?" option.
