Over The Break: Sachem East Girls Track Weekend Results

Squad makes trips to Rhode Island and New York City.

The Sachem East Girls Indoor Track team split its forces this past weekend with a crew of 30 competing in the North Shore Invitational at the Armory Track and Field Center, and 24 traveling to Providence for the Rhode Island Classic.

With nationally ranked Racewalkers Holly Lindoe and Sarah LaPorta flying to Texas for a 5-day Racewalk clinic and solid results at both meets, the squad now will begin to narrow its focus to meets closer to home.

Championship meets, like the League 1 and County Championships, loom just a month away.

"The girls are competing very well right now and are progressing right on schedule just like last year" said Coach Dan Schaub, who coordinated the Rhode Island trip. "Now we'll begin the transition from strength work to speed work to get ready for the Championship season."
