North Arrowettes Take Long Island Championships

Varsity and JV dance squads take home three titles each in newly acheived categories.

The Sachem North Arrowettes will be doing a victory dance all the way to Nationals competition this week, as both the JV and Varsity troupes grabbed six Long Island Championship trophies.

The girls danced their last local competition on Sunday at the Long Island Championships. The tournament tallies the scores of all three local dance competitions and then crowns the best in each dance category.

The Varsity Arrowettes won the top prize for Jazz, Open and Hip-Hop, an historic accompishment for Sachem, according to coach Katie Prusinski. Meanwhile the Junior Varsity Arrowettes received Long Island Championships in Jazz, Hip-Hop and Pom.

The Varsity group will take their dancing shoes to Orlando on Thursday to compete in the Nationals tournament.
