Grounded: Sachem East Comes Up Short In Suffolk County Championship

Despite 4 Casali TDs, Sachem's defense couldn't stop Floyd from pouring on 61 points.

The 2012 run is over. Sachem East put in a valiant effort, but Floyd's offensive running game proved to be too much for the Flaming Arrows as the Colonials defeated East 61-27 to capture yet another Suffolk County Championship.

Playing in his last game at Sachem, Steven Casali put in a stellar effort, with four touchdowns on 264 yards and 38 carries. The team also managed two turnovers against Floyd, but it was Floyd's combination of Diamonte Corley and Chris Faison that proved unstoppable down the stretch.

The final score is a bit misleading, as Sachem East was only down by two touchdowns and had recovered an onside kick with about 10 minutes remaining in the game. Floyd poured it on after that drive stalled, recording three more touchdowns to blow it open.
