Game Preview: Connetquot Vs. Sachem North

Sachem North Football Coach David Falco answers some questions about getting back on the winning track and tonight's regular season finale.

Last week Sachem North improved to 5-2 with a big win over Longwood. The victory snapped a two-game skid after suffering back-to-back losses to Northport and William Floyd. Kevin Bregaglia and Trent Crossan returned to the field in the game, and immediately made an impact.

This week they're home against the undefeated Connetquot Thunderbirds, who seem to have taken a lot of high school sports "experts" by surprise: beating William Floyd in the season-opener and taking apart Sachem East after East lost its star running back Steven Casali in the game.

We spoke with Sachem North Head Coach Dave Falco about getting the team back in the W column and tonight's final game of the regular season against Connetquot.

On the morale of the team this week.

"Winning always changes the mood in the building and on the practice field."

On the difference between 5-2 and 4-3. Did the win save the season? "Saved our season? No, we dont look at it that way. Four wins had us in the playoffs from the 2 seed in the preseason, so getting to five, and Floyd losing, just increases our chance at a higher playoff position."
