Farmingville Chamber Offers 2nd Annual Sachem East Scholarship

"Time to Make a Difference" scholarship award offers $500 to Sachem East senior with winning entry.

The Farmingville Hills Chamber of Commerce is rolling out its "Time to Make a Difference" scholarship program for the second consecutive year.

The $500 scholarship is open to any Class of 2013 student enrolled at Sachem High School East, that plans to attend an accredited college, vocational or trade school in the fall. The winner will be asked to provide an acceptance letter to receive the scholarship.

To apply for the endowment, the Chamber is asking entrants to put together a three to five minute video presentation that suggests ways in which Farmingville can be improved. The entrant does not need to appear in the video.

Once the video is created, entrants must "like" the Chamber's Facebook page and upload the video to the page. The video that receives the most "likes" by April 26 will win the scholarship.

All entries are due to be posted on the Facebook page wall by April 12.
