Sachem East senior Christopher DeMairo won the Jacqueline C. Palmer Award at the Bay Area Fine Arts Festival last week.
There were 96 pieces in the art gallery at Gillette House in Sayville.
His photo was titled "Visceral," which is one of the six pieces in this particular theme.

"The photo series was inspired from memories of my childhood," he said.
DeMairo will be attending the School of Visual Arts in the fall.

He hopes to start his second internship this summer.
