East Art Students Reach Semis in Shoe Design Contest, Need Votes

Vote now to help East advance in national competition.

The Sachem High School East Art Department is proud to announce that a group of their students are semi-finalists in the national Vans Custom Culture shoe design competition. In order to become finalists, they will need community support through online voting. To vote, go to www.vans.com/customculture, click on the Northeast region, select “Sachem High School East,” and cast your vote. You can also access this site through Sachem East’s website. Voting closes on May 3rd.

Sachem East is currently one of 10 schools selected as semi-finalists in the Northeast region, which includes schools as far west as Wisconsin. Sachem is the only public school on Long Island to make the semi-finals this year.

To make the finals, Sachem East needs your votes to win the region. The schools with the most votes from each region will become the top 5 in the nation, and each of the top five win at least $4,000 for their art department. The artists from the top 5 schools will be flown out to Los Angeles, California for the final judging. The grand prize is $50,000.
