Common Core Presentation, Bid Awards At Sachem BOE Work Session Tuesday

The Sachem Central School District Board of Education will be holding their Tuesday work session at Samoset Middle School, 51 School St. in Lake Ronkonkoma, at 7:30 p.m.

According to the agenda on the school district’s website, there will be a presentation on a common core update at the meeting.

Also listed are a number of bid awards for emergency snow removal, gluten-free food products, salt/sand supply and delivery, physical education/athletic equipment, Webasto Scholastic Heaters and field marking and traffic paint/equipment/parts. The agenda says that approval of these items will be the action required.

The consent agenda includes various leave replacement appointments of teaching personnel, a probationary appointment for a reading teacher at Waverly Elementary School, a part time teacher appointment at Sachem High School North, salary changes for a number of teachers, approval of six substitute teachers (four of which were excessed), the termination/resignation of several substitute teachers among other appointments.

The meeting will take place in the BOE Room.
