Area Students Getting It Done In College

Rochester Institute of Technology, Gettysburg College students take top honors this semester.

The Sachem community has much to be proud of as its college students will be returning home for the holidays with a bit of a feather in their caps. The following students earned Dean's List recognition for the Fall 2012 semester at Rochester Institute of Technology:

  • Sarah Harley of Lake Grove, N.Y., a first-year student in RIT's Kate Gleason College of Engineering.
  • Jennifer Riccardi of Holbrook, N.Y., a second-year student in RIT's National Technical Institute for the Deaf.
  • Nathaniel Rosengrant of Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y., a first-year student in RIT's Kate Gleason College of Engineering.
  • Steven Santorelli of Farmingville, N.Y., a first-year student in RIT's B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.
  • Courtney Ullger of Lake Grove, N.Y., a second-year student in RIT's College of Liberal Arts.
  • Brianne Yannotta of Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y., a fourth-year student in RIT's National Technical Institute for the Deaf.

In addition, Kenneth Lewis, a first-year student from Ronkonkoma attending Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania was awarded this year's Presidential Scholarship. The Presidential Scholarship goes to top-ranking high school applicants based upon their GPA, high school class rank and SAT or ACT scores.
