Area Residents Qualify For December Graduation At Oswego

Three students from Farmingville, one from Holbrook, completed their course work and will toss their caps into the air this month.

Four local residents have completed their baccalaureate studies and are prepared to graduate from SUNY Oswego this month.

The students, and their respective majors in parentheses, have been determined eligible to participate in the December 15 graduation commencement at the upstate school.

  • Robert A. Madonia, Farmingville (Childhood Education)
  • Michael V. Malfa, Farmingville (Technology Education)
  • Christa J. Nussbaum, Farmingville (Marketing)
  • Tim J. Governale, Holbrook (Technology Education, cum laude)

Governale graduated cum laude, an honor designation bestowed only upon students who maintain a 3.3-3.59 GPA. According to a release from the school, the U.S. News Media Group counts SUNY Oswego among the top public regional universities in the North for 2013. The Princeton Review included Oswego in its 2013 college guidebook "The Best Northeastern Colleges."
