Town of Brookhaven to Host Woofstock

Animals get treatment with peace and love.

The Town of Brookhaven recently announced the creation of the first annual Woofstock, celebrating the peace and love of animals.

The event will take place at the Brookhaven Animal Shelter at 300 Horseblock Road in Brookhaven on July 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be vendors, food, refreshments and free adoptions.

“Dori and her staff do such unbelievable work and this is just another example of how successful they have been in making the public more aware of the plight of our shelter animals that are looking for homes,” said Brookhaven Supervisor Mark Lesko in a statement. “This is going to be such a fun event for everyone, animals included and I expect many of the animals will be adopted.”

"We are looking forward to a wonderful family fun day and many pet adoptions", said Dori Scofield, Director of the Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, in a statement. “This is just another great event we are having to make the public aware of all the great animals we have here looking for their forever homes.”
