Sup. Lesko Finalizes TOB Management Team

Appointments make for most bipartisan administration in town history.

The Lesko-Walsh Administration announced a new management team, which includes new appointments as well as re-appointed Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners. The team will work together to develop innovative policies and fiscal priorities.

"This talented management team will help us harness the limitless potential of the town," said Supervisor Mark Lesko.  "It does not matter to me what party you are a member of.  If you are an excellent manager, you are on the Lesko- Walsh team.  Our Administration will work hard to unify the town and re-imagine the future of Brookhaven."

Deputy Supervisor Kathleen Walsh continued, "I am proud of the professional individuals that have come together with this Administration to serve our residents.  Today, this collaborative government can continue to have a true effect on service for the Town of Brookhaven."

The Lesko-Walsh Administration includes: two former Deputy Supervisors under former Supervisor John LaValle, Commissioner of Waste Management and Director of Operations Matthew Miner and Commissioner of Parks and Recreation Edward Morris Jr; two former Republican County Legislators, Commissioner of Building and Fire Prevention Martin Haley and Deputy Commissioner of Public Safety Peter O'Leary; two former Democratic County Legislators, Brian Beedenbender Chief of Staff and James Morgo, County Executive Steve Levy's former Chief Deputy; and former Supervisor John LaValle's  Public Information Officer Inez Birbiglia as Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Planning, Environment and Land Management.

"Of the fifteen Departmental appointments, eleven of the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner positions are reappointments from the previous majority.  Clearly, if you are a good manager and dedicated to serve our residents you are welcome in the Lesko-Walsh Adiminstration."concluded Supervisor Lesko.
