Sachem East Students Recognized by County Legislature

National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes two students from East, Legislator Tom Muratore presents proclamation for the honor.

Two Sachem East High School students were recognized by Suffolk County Legislator Tom Muratore for being named in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Alan Mohr and Ivan Guan were among approximately 34,000 Commended Students throughout the U.S. who were recognized for their academic ability in the National Merit Scholarship Program for 2013.

For that recognition, Legislator Muratore awarded proclamations to Mohr and Guan at the Legislature's February meeting. Mohr was on hand to receive his proclamation.

“It is important to recognize the young people who strive for excellence and serve as positive role models,” Legislator Muratore stated in a release. “Alan and Ivan worked hard for this prestigious award, and I congratulate them on this accomplishment.”
