Sachem Alum Named Chief of Staff to Staten Island Borough President

Joseph Sciortino is moving up at Staten Island Borough Hall.

Joseph Sciortino, a 2004 Sachem graduate, was recently promoted to chief of staff to Staten Island Borough President James Molinaro, according to a report in the Staten Island Advance. 

Sciortino, who earned a master's degree in global development and social justice from St. John's University, formerly was a special assistant and transportation director at Staten Island Borough Hall, the report says. 

"I'm very thankful," the 25-year-old Sciortino, who lives in Brooklyn, told the Advance of his new position. "I'm looking forward to my new role. It's our job to be here for everybody."
