Muratore Visits Chippewa Elementary for Career Day

Suffolk legislator talks politics with elementary kids.

Last week Suffolk County Legis. Tom Muratore attended Career Day at Chippewa Elementary School in Holtsville.

Muratore greeted the entire third grade class and introduced them to the Suffolk County Legislative process.

The school’s motto is “Catch the Learning Spirit” and their mission statement, “…is to assure that each child is a competent lifelong learner, has a positive self-image and a sense of respect for others. This will be done in a safe, nurturing environment with a challenging child-centered curriculum delivered by highly-qualified enthusiastic educators.”

Muratore explained that the Suffolk County Legislature is the governing body in Suffolk Count and that a legislator is an elected official that serves a two year term.

“It was so refreshing to talk to the third grade students from Chippewa Elementary School,” Muratore said. “These children are so bright and bring such energy into the learning process.  I am amazed at the intelligence of the questions they asked,” remarked Legislator Muratore. It obviously shows the quality of education that the school district is providing to our leaders of tomorrow.”
