Islip Councilwoman Bergin Weichbrodt speaks with boy scouts

Islip Town Councilwoman Trish Bergin Weichbrodt spoke with 12 ambitious Boy Scouts who are working for their Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge.  This badge is required for the scouts to reach the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest level attainable in Boy Scouts.

Brookhaven board approves Osprey to maintain land parcel

At its August 17th meeting the Brookhaven Town Board approved a resolution put forward by Councilman Dan Panico of the Sixth Council District allowing the Osprey Pointe Civic Association to adopt and maintain the triangular parcel of land located at the corners of Grassmere Drive, Shore Drive, and Park Place in Mastic Beach.

Special election scheduled in Mastic Beach

A special election to determine the question of the incorporation of the Village of Mastic Beach has been designated by Supervisor Lesko for Tuesday, August 31, 2010. The voting will take place from 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Mastic Beach Fire Department, located at 265 Neighborhood Road in Mastic Beach.
