Legislator Muratore Visits Hiawatha Elementary

Suffolk lawmaker drops by to lead pledge, discuss what the Legislature does.

Suffolk County Legislator Tom Muratore paid a visit to Hiawatha Elementary School recently, where he led Mrs. Marshall's second-grade class in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Afterward he discussed his role as a legislator and took questions from the students.

“By far, my favorite role as Legislator is speaking with children, our constituents and leaders of tomorrow,” Muratore stated in a release. “It is important to instill an interest in government at an early age. The students from Mrs. Marshall’s class were inquisitive and bright, and visiting them was a great privilege.”
