EVENTS
S.T.O.P. Day: Sept. 21
9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
The Town of Islip's Annual S.T.O.P. (Stop Throwing Out Pollutants) Day is on September 21st at the Multi-Purpose Recycling Facility at 1155 Lincoln Avenue in Holbrook. An assortment of pollutants will be accepted . Items not accepted include: Ammunition, Explosives, Flares, Fireworks, Fire Extinguishers, Medicines, Radioactive Materials, Syringes or needles, and Pharmaceuticals. 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m
Suffolk County SPCA is hosting their annual Rabies Clinic at Town Hall (655 Main Street in Islip). Residents can bring their dogs, cats, and ferrets, 4 months or older, to get free rabies vaccinations. A $10.00 donation is suggested but not required. The Islip Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center will be performing low-cost micro-chipping for $25.00 and the Town Clerk's office will be issuing dog licenses for $6.00. All dogs must be on leash, all cats and ferrets must be in carriers. Any aggressive animal should be muzzled. International Book Art Biennial
Curated by Dorothea Fleiss. The Islip Art Museum is excited to announce its annual open call, New York Bound: International Book Art Biennial, featuring a selection of artist-made books from around the world. The exhibition promotes and encourages artists’ unconventional ideas about books. This will be held at Brookwood Hall, 50 Irish Hall, East Islip.A special exhibition will be on view from October 6 – December 29, 2013 with a Reception: October 6th from 1-4pm. 30th Annual Juried Art Show
