Graffiti Truck Coming to Town of Islip
Looks to wash away dirtiness around town.
Islip Town Councilman Gene Parrington announced that he will be unveiling the Town's new graffiti-removal truck within the next few weeks. This comes on the heels of Councilman Parrington's establishment of the Graffiti and Litter Removal Task Force, according to a statement from the Town.
The graffiti-removal truck was purchased with a $150,000 grant from Senator Brian Foley, and has power-washing and paint-matching capabilities, the Town said.
Under Islip's new comprehensive Anti-Graffiti Program, any resident can call the Town to report the location of graffiti.
"Graffiti has unfortunately become a pervasive issue throughout the Town, and vandals need to know that it will not be tolerated here in Islip," said Councilman Parrington in a statement. "Improving the quality of life for Islip Town residents is of the utmost importance to me, and this new graffiti-removal truck is a tool that will help me do just that."
Anyone wishing to report a location where there is graffiti may call Councilman Parrington's office at 589-0234.
