Graf Offers Scholarship Opportunity for High School Graduates

Chance for a full scholarship comes around once every two years.

Holbrook Assemblyman Al Graf is encouraging recent high school graduates to apply for a full scholarship through the Cadet Appointment Program at SUNY Maritime College.

Graf is only given one appointment for the right candidate every two years, so his office is seeking applicants on a first-come-first-serve basis, according to a release.

The Cadet Appointment Program is offered to recipients who are first year college students and meet a minimum high school GPA requirement of 90 or better and an 1100 SAT or 24 ACT score.

“The Cadet Appointment Program is an invaluable opportunity for Long Island’s young adults to grow academically, professionally and personally,” Graf stated in the release. "I implore our youth who have recently graduated high school to consider this amazing opportunity and contact my office for further details.”

Applications are due through Maritime College by February of 2013. Interested persons are encouraged to visit www.sunymaritime.edu or contact Assemblyman Graf at 631-589-8685, or grafa@assembly.state.ny.us for more information.
