Free Prom Dresses In Farmingville

Brookhaven Town's Youth Bureau opens free prom dress boutique at Town Hall.

Members of the Brookhaven Town's Youth Bureau have sprung into action in time for prom season by opening the Prom Boutique at Town Hall in Farmingville.

According to a release from the town, the Youth Bureau has been collecting evening dresses, gowns, shoes, handbags, jewelry, makeup and perfume from giving donors in an attempt to create a full prom experience to the town's neediest girls.

“Each year the number of people in need have increased," Councilwoman Kathleen Walsh stated in a release. "Budgetary restraints have hindered our efforts. It is so important in these tough economic times that we help each other." Walsh is the liason for the Youth Bureau.
