F-22 Fighter Jets Prepping for Air Show to be Stationed at MacArthur

F-22 Demo Squadron will be conducting maneuvers over Islip airspace over the next several days.

Fighter jets are headed to the Town of Islip. 

Long Island MacArthur Airport to be exact, but this visit from the Air Force's newest fighter aircrafts, the F-22 Raptor, is all in good fun. 

MacArthur will play host to the F-22 Demo Squadron from May 24-29, Islip Town Supervisor Tom Croci said in a statement

The squad is on Long Island for the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach to be held this Memorial Day weekend. 

"These aircraft embody the best of America’s ingenuity, technology, and military might," Croci said.

The jets will be conducting maneuvers over Islip airspace during their stay at MacArthur, Croci said. 

"Residents can expect to notice these planes flying at low altitudes and an increase in air traffic noise for the duration of the squadron’s stay in Islip," he said. "These flights will be limited and of short duration. For more information about the visit from the F-22 Demo Squadron, please call Long Island MacArthur Airport at 467-3210."
