Councilwoman Walsh Promotes Public CR 97 Meeting

County leaders plan to hold informational hearing on road improvements along Nicolls Road.

Brookhaven Town Councilwoman Kathleen Walsh is urging the public to attend an informational meeting planned by Suffolk County to discuss safety and traffic-flow improvements proposed along Nicolls Road.

The meeting, slated for January 14 at 6 p.m., will discuss particularly the intersections at Nicolls Road and Hammond Road, Hawkins Road/Wireless Road and Mark Tree Road. The meeting will be held at the Ammerman campus of Suffolk Community College in the Babylon Student Center. A snow date is set for January 22.

“I strongly suggest that our residents attend this informational meeting to hear about the County’s plans for what can be considered one of the major roads in the Town of Brookhaven," Councilwoman Walsh said in a statement. "I look forward to working with the County to make this roadway safer and easier to navigate for our residents.”
