Brookhaven To Sponsor Rabies Clinic at Town Hall

Clinic will offer 600 vaccinations on first come, first serve basis for Brookhaven residents.

Brookhaven Supervisor Ed Romaine announced that the town’s Animal Shelter and Adoption Center will be holding its yearly free rabies vaccination clinic in the Town Hall parking lot in Farmingville on May 18. The clinic is open to all Suffolk residents and is co-sponsored by the Suffolk County Health Department in an effort to prevent the spread of rabies to pets who may become exposed to the illness. “It’s important that pets are vaccinated for diseases, especially rabies,” Supervisor Romaine said in a statement. “I urge residents to take advantage of this opportunity and to make sure that their pets receive a rabies shot. It’s the best way to protect your pets, your family and the community from the spread of this dangerous disease.” The clinic will be open from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. on a first-come-first-serve basis. There is a limited quantity of 600 vaccinations available on the day. Residents can also stop by the Farmingville clinic for affordable veterinary care, including booster shots and micro-chipping technology to prevent lost pets. Dog licensing will also be conducted at the site. Payment for all services must be made in cash at the site.
