Brookhaven Animal Shelter to Host "St. Pittie's Day" Event

Free pet adoptions, gifts and Irish brunch in celebration of St. Patrick's Day.

The Town of Brookhaven Animal Shelter will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by hosting “St. Pittie’s Day” on Sunday, March 18 at the Animal Shelter from Noon to 4:00 p.m.  During the event the Animal shelter will waive adoption fees and serve brunch for those looking to adopt a pet.

“Dori Scofield has done a fabulous job of getting the message out about pet adoption and “St. Pittie’s Day” should be another big success,” said Supervisor Mark Lesko, in a statement. “Anyone looking to adopt a dog or cat should go to this event and bring a loving companion animal home with them.”

During the “St. Pittie’s Day” event, adoption fees will be waived and there will be a free Irish brunch for guests to enjoy. Residents who adopt a pet at the event will receive a “Pot O’ Love” gift bag filled with treats for their new pet. The “St. Pittie’s Day” event will also feature trainers, groomers, and veterinarians on hand to speak with those interested in adopting and caring for a new pet.
