Bishop to Hold Community Office Hours

Continues with event despite recent event in Arizona.

This Saturday Rep. Tim Bishop will meet with constituents at Patchogue Village Hall as part of his Community Office Hours program.  The event was previously scheduled and will take place despite last Saturday’s tragic shooting involving Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

“The most important part of my job is listening directly to my constituents and holding regular Community Office Hours around the district is a critical part of that effort,” said Bishop in a statement. “While we will make every effort to ensure safety, for me, not holding these kinds of meetings is simply not an option.”

Bishop’s last Community Office Hours were held in Smithtown last June.  In order to accommodate his constituents’ schedules and have more productive interactions, during Community Office Hours, Congressman Bishop makes 10 minute, one-on-one appointments with constituents.  In the event of overflow, constituents are able to make an appointment with a Congressional Aide.
