Last Chance: Sachem Library Budget Vote

Voting takes place at the library from 9:30 a.m- 9 p.m.

Sachem residents head to the polls today to cast ballots on a $9.76 million proposed budget for the .

The proposed budget for the 2012/13 fiscal year represents a 1.57 percent increase over the current $9.61 million budget. 

The tax levy increase is projected at 1.73 percent, which is below the state's new 2-percent cap.

Dennis Flavin, a Sachem resident for more than 30 years and a library trustee for 11 years, is running unopposed for a 5-year term of office.

Polls are open from 9:30 a.m.- 9 p.m.

* At least 18 years of age
* A citizen of the U.S.
* A resident of Sachem School District for at least 30 days
And are registered to vote
