Three Injured in Ronkonkoma House Fire

Suffolk Arson investigators said it does not appear to be criminal.

A house in Ronkonkoma caught fire early Thursday morning, injuring three people.

Lakeland Fire Department responded to the blaze on Ontario Street at 3:42 a.m. and found the home engulfed.

The three residents, a 50-year-old man, his 27-year-old daughter and her 2-year-old daughter escaped the fire by exiting the home through windows, police said.

All three victims were transported to Stony Brook University Medical Center and were treated for smoke inhalation. The mother and her toddler were admitted for their injuries.

Ronkonkoma, Central Islip and Holbrook Fire Departments responded to the scene.

While Suffolk County Police Arson Section detectives are investigating the cause of the incident, they said it does not appear to be criminal.
